Webinar on “Scope & Career Opportunities for Physical Design in VLSI Industry”
Physical Design is a important process step in ASIC / SOC design cycle in which gate level circuit representations are converted into geometric representations of shapes which, when manufactured in the corresponding layers of materials, will ensure the required functioning of the gate level circuits. This geometric representation is called layout and this specialization used to be called IC layout. For last 1.5 decades this specialization is called as physical design and it has become much complex, as billions of transistors are packed into one chip.
This step is usually involves several sub-steps, which include floor planning, placement, CTS, Routing, Timing Analysis, Power Analysis ..etc.
– Comparison of VLSI to other industries.
-Major companies in VLSI and future growth.
-The Scope and importance of Physical Design in VLSI
-Scope of career in Physical Design – training needed, growth prospects,Salary packages etc.
-The PD flow and best practices
Date & Time: 8th Feb 11 Am to 12 Pm
Speaker: Venkat Sunkara, Founder, ChipEdge.
