It should talk, show, explain, and even answer questions before you\u2019re asked.<\/p>\n<p>So, where do you begin?<\/p>\n<h2>Don\u2019t Skip the Basics \u2013 You\u2019ll Regret It Later<\/h2>\n<p>Look, everyone wants to jump to the shiny stuff, <a href=\"https:\/\/chipedge.com\/design-for-test\">DFT<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/chipedge.com\/resources\/what-is-static-timing-analysis-in-vlsi\/\">STA<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/chipedge.com\/resources\/what-is-clock-tree-synthesis\/\">clock trees<\/a>, and fancy EDA tools. But if you don\u2019t know how to build a basic ALU or write a clean <a href=\"https:\/\/elearn.chipedge.com\/s\/store\/courses\/RTL%20Design\">RTL<\/a>, none of that will matter. Build something broken, fix it, and show that story in your portfolio.<\/p>\n<h2>Don\u2019t Just Name Tools, Use Them and Prove It<\/h2>\n<p>There\u2019s a big difference between saying \u201cI\u2019ve used PrimeTime\u201d and actually fixing a timing violation with it.<\/p>\n<p>Make time to learn industry tools properly. Open Synopsys Design Compiler, run synthesis, and save reports. Use ICC2 to floorplan or route something.
